To the unknowing, at first this might appear to be a linen scarf. Actually, this type of linen was quite common when I arrived on island thirty-three years ago. Although the wrap was seen more often in a silken form used to wrap parcels for transport from one locale to another.

BTW, today’s the annual Gate 2 Fest. If you haven’t had the opportunity to experience a local street fest, here’s a good chance.

This year the Japanese and American Thanksgiving holidays happen to coincide. This is a pic of a local residential street on the overcast and drizzly day. Even though the weather doesn’t want to cooperate, I’m sure everyone will enjoy their annual festivities anyway.

Here it is the day before T-Day 2006. The end of Novemeber is upon us and with it the end of the official 2006 tropical storm season. This has been an extremely mild season for the island. It seems the local old wives’ predictor mentioned earlier doesn’t apply this year.

Oh well when it comes to spiders I tend to fit the female stereotype, I am not the biggest fan. However, this one was so breath taking and fascinating. The full size of this colorful and intriguing reminder of the sub-tropic status of the island was about the same as my hand.
