I was out trying to capture some of the local bird song this morning and was lucky enough to also catch a few photos of the midmorning sun as it emerged from a billowy cloud.

Well if you’ve been keeping up with the sight, then you already know I’ve been experimenting with the video portion of blogging. Here is the first attempt at creating a video completely from scratch (no pre-recorded video in the project). The meal is for the amateur foodie portion of this sight, Innie-or-Outie, which was created because of the large number of food-oriented posts that were taking up too much of this sight. The video was created from original pictures taken while I was cooking the meal and self-recorded audio instructions.

This is a house with traditioanl Ryukyu roofing that we came across on a road trip recently. There are several of this style of house in most areas on island, but they are a diminishing sight.

I usually don’t post about anything too personal, but today is something a little different… our 32nd anniversary. Sometimes I think we amaze ourselves more than anything else. Maybe thirty-two years of marriage isn’t that big of a deal, but given that we had only seen each other but a few times prior to the first date, were engaged six weeks later, and married about six weeks after that….were both under the age of twenty-five, from different races, different cultures, and different countries….. well, surviving all those tumultuous ups and downs feels like something worth a mention….
Photo of our first date in June 1974 taken at Liebe…. now known as Hard Rock Cafe Okinawa on B.C. Street (Chuo Park Avenue) in Koza (Okinawa City).
