The internet is such a fascinating place, so full of information and creativity. In keeping up with the latest news on hurricanes I found the value of online hurricane trackers. Although there are several variations on the theme, I found the most informative to be the tracker on MSN. Not only is in-depth information on the current hurricane provided, but also included on the site is information from past hurricanes that can be used for comparison. This tracker has a straight line design that allows you to see the sometimes unrealistic patterns that hurricanes take. Well done.

Going Down…

As we drove into work last night, I took a quick glance at the destruction phase of Music Town. All that remains of the one block area that is to house the new facility is a couple buildings on the Gate 2 Street end of the project. Soon the construction phase will begin. And if all goes according to schedule, the new complex will be completed within the next two years.

Falling Dreams?

Here it is September 23rd, Autumn Eqinox, the first day of Fall for 2005. When one thinks of autumn, images of multi-colored trees, cooling temperatures, and the upcoming holiday season quikly come to mind. But this year the main thought on most people’s minds is where is Hurricane Rita going to make landfall and how much destruction will she create.

Hard hit New Orleans is already beginning to experience more unneeded rainfall as a result of two monster storm systems within three weeks. But if what I have viewed in the past three weeks is an example of the hearts and spirits of those natives, they will overcome this additional challenge. Somehow through all of the nonsense and show of Mom Nature’s powers, the people of New Orleans continue to demonstrate an overpowering love of and belief in the music utopia and the unique culture of that city which can only be claimed as thier own.

I’ve been trying to keep up with current info on Rita. I’m glad people are being more cautious this time. I was in Texas when Camille came through and Guam when it was hit by Pamela. These size storms are never much fun for anyone. Please take care everyone in the areas forecast to be affected, our thoughts are with you.

On and On

Not giving up on this yet:

Okay, after five tries, I finally got Feedster to recognize my claim. It seems there is a step missing in the instructions. Or at least after I did this non-mentioned step Feedster recognized the claim. After you post the claim HTML, view the site and click on the link.

Now if I can just get Feedster to recognize my Jpeg for the icon. On and On, and on and on…. LOL
