Rainy Days and Mondays
Well it looks like no holiday BBQ here today, we’ll have to take a rain check. However, the flowers seem to be enjoying the rain.

We were fortunate to have a couple of really nice days to barbecue this past week. But we weren’t the only ones taking advantage of the sunny back yard BBQ days.

Well here it is that time of year again, the unofficial start of summer weekend. Although most people count on spending the weekend enjoying the great outdoors, it doesn’t seem that it will that simple for those of us on island. All week long the weather has been bouncing back and forth between great BBQ days and literal massive downpours. But where ever you may be, I hope all of you have a very good weekend.
This is one of the numerous colors found in the bountiful impatiens found on island.

Here are some updated pics of my boys:

Jaco is a pit bull mixed-breed and Kato is a pointer mixed-breed (we think). We know for sure about Jaco because we adopted him from Karing Kennels. But, we are not sure about Kato because he adopted Taki outside a local grocery store.
Those of you who were on Gate 2 Street after midnight already know, NHK was out filming the area. They stopped by Bar JET for a few songs and then were on their way. Although the crew called Taki and received permission to film at the club, not may details were provided. So if you watch NHK, expect to see some footage of the area on one of their shows concerning Okinawa and the music scene.
Hubby was at a local super market and ran into a sale on international beers. With him being a beer drinker, especially after working outside in the hot afternoon sun, he thought he’d give them a try.

The originating countries of the beers are (from left to right): Czechoslovakia, Myanmar, Russia, Austria, and Greece.
NOTE: What hubby didn’t realize until he arrived at home is that the Russian beer is of the non-alcohol variety!
Even though it hasn’t been officially announced, the tropical cyclone season is bearing down on us again. And even though we haven’t been personally affected on island (yet), it looks like it’s going to be another whopper of a season. China is currently dealing with a record breaking typhoon for the month of May. Earlier this month the local deigo trees were full of fiery red blossoms. Local folklore has it that when that particular variety of tree overly-blossoms than a hardy typhoon season is upon us. Keep tuned to find out if it’s true!
