Given my lifestyle, I often encounter many talented individuals, some of who are extremely gifted. On occasion, someone asks, “Who is your idol?”

I do not believe in idols in that sense. (If I did, the closest would still be George Burns.) There are many very gifted individuals in this world. I admire the talent, but never forget that these are still people. People who face a wide array of challenges in life, just as the rest of us do. The manner in which the individual handles those challenges determines whether are not they command my respect. In addition, I always remember no celebrity, no matter how talented, is a God.

  1. Sorry, but I’m new at this site. How do I post some cool picture’s of Okinawa I took in Oct-1968, a day before I left this fine Island that I grew to love?

  2. There are various ways to post pics in blogs. I’ve found that not all mobile devices can access the larger images. As a relative newbie to the world of computing (I definitely wasn’t raised with the technology), I use a Flickr account (limited size free accounts are available) and post the code provided by the site of the thumbnail (or square) version of the pic. This tends to be a small enough size file that it is accepted by most mobile devices. I finish the post with an instruction on how to view the larger version of the pic.

    Example:

Lighting the Sky - January 2007
