In the Month of May

What do asparagus, eggs, salad, hamburger, strawberries, herbs, raisins, frozen yogurt, chocolate parfaits, raspberry popovers, orange juice, chocolate custard, hoagies, mushrooms, cherry deserts, American beer, and bathroom reading all have in common? Other than if someone ate all those ingredients they would probably have to be doing the reading in the bathroom, these are all objects of celebration in the month of May.
